"Doesn't the logo on the plane look like it's all gold?"
In fact, it does.
There's nothing silver in the logo or the lines. Even the text Oman Air is written in Gold as anonymous pointed out. But what's behind the sudden change?
I actually have nothing against Oman Air. I've only flown with them on trips to Dubai. I'd love for them to develop into a world class airline. Since they are the only airline offering direct flights between Oman and London, and soon to other cities like Frankfurt as well, I want them to be good because many of the tourists coming to Oman will be flying with them. Therefore, I am sure every Omani wants nothing but the best for Oman Air.
Lately, it seems like every year I end up taking my vacation in the Far East. Once again, since Oman Air has direct flights to Bangkok, and soon to Kuala Lumpur, I want them to be good so I can fly with them.
I've never written about Oman Air before neither positively or negatively. Gulf Air is horrible. I really really really hate Emirates. I think they are all hype and they treat passengers like cattle.
Just because I commented on Oman Air's logo doesn't make me an enemy of the airline. I didn't even say that it was a bad logo. All I said was that I don't see the logo or the colors representing Oman like the airline says they do.
This logo and colour combination is good and looking proud but unfortunately this is not related to Oman. So we should need some changes in this logo, instead of gold wings add Oman flag colour white, green and red. I think after the modification this logo is looking more good .
Cal me tasteless but I like it, even though it kinda looks like a... ya know a piece of .... ahm. I think the new colour scheme is much better than the old one. Even you hate to admit it, the gold does make it look more professional. The only problem I have with the whole thing is that, its not very innovative..(reminds me of Singapore airlines logo)
You can always fly with Thai for far east...I find them pretty good...plus flying all the way to Bangkok or Kuala Lampur (which is 6 and 7 hours respectively) in a relatively small plane like the 737 Oman Air uses is not really a good idea...
ACTUALLY THERE WAS NO CHANGE FROM THE PROPOSED COLOUR SCHEME....THEY PAINTED THE FIRST AIRCRAFT WRONGLY..!!! IE THE LOGO IN TWO SHADES OF GOLD INSTEAD OF GOLD AND SILVER...
Muscati - u r are right dude abt emirates. its really crap. but since they are the only ones who fly direct from nyc.. i really have no choice.. in the end, oman was always abt hospitality and not the hype like dubai.
went online to see if they had updated their site yet, and started with omanair.com. Can't believe they still haven't managed to buy this address, which has been displaying a warning about terrorism in Oman for at least two years.
Oh, and the site was still using the old colours...

without a doubt all gold. good catch
Shouldn't the "Oman Air" text be in silver and not gold?
Looks like the painters messed up big time!
