Oman Blog Awards 2005

After a bit of a hiccup the first stage of voting in the OBA 2005 has been restarted. The final list of nominees is now set. In the first stage voters are requested to choose three choices from the list and the five with the most votes will go to the final voting stage. Voting is open for one week only [link].

Lets hope the bloggers will look what is in the blogs rather than just checking the names of the bloggers.

I found some blogs where the last post goes back to 1st & 2nd quarters of 2005, how they are included?!

Simple as that

Here's how I'm gonna vote:

1. Since this is OBA 2005, I will only look at the blogs that I liked the most in 2005. For example there is one particular blog which I really like right now but which I only found out about in late December even though it was around all of 2005. I will not vote for it but I hope its quality remains the same and if it does I will definitely vote for it in OBA 2006.

2. Even if I really like a blog, if it hasn't been updated in a long time I will not vote for it. If it was a good blog for a while and then stopped, I will not vote for it.

3. It would really be stupid not to vote for your own blog unless you honestly think that others are better than you. There's no reason to be modest. You're voting for three blogs, not one, might as well give yourself a vote.

Dear Sir,
We are forced to write this letter to you due to the negative attitude of Management of Al-Mutawaa Trading Company and Arab Merchant Company LLC.,
In an unfortunate incident Mr. Janardhanan a newly joined employee was hit several times by Mr Nader , Senior Sales Manager. Mr Janardhanan was under medical care for more than three days because of the injuries received by him.
This was not the first time Mr Nader has manhandled other employees. He has at least Six occasions in the past hit six different employees and he was always let off by the management. But on this occasion all employees of AL MUTAWAA and ARAB MERCAHNTS demanded action against MR Nader in writing and management was forced to issue warning to Mr Nader. We decided to accept this action as Mr Nader was a very important employee of ARAB MERCHANTS CO. LLC and he promised not to repeat the same mistake in future.
The effect of attack on Mr Janardhanan was more than physical. After the attack he could not sleep for two weeks and was tired mentally. We had to take him to a psychiatrist, who clearly stated that it was due to a minor shock and if he is able to take medicines for two days and sleep he will be alright. Now his condition has improved very much.
But the sad part is that Management has refused to pay the medical bills on a very flimsy ground that psychiatric treatment is not in the contract while it was very clearly told by the Psychiatrist that the problem occurred due to office tension and incident with Mr Nader. Moreover the management has decided to terminate the contract of Mr Nader and send him to India.
While we accept that it is difficult for Mr Janardhan to continue working in this company. We demand that his medical and other benefits be paid properly and he be given at least two months leave salary and One months notice pay plus Air Ticket to his home town.
You can verify the above incidents with any employee of the company,
Thanking You,
Yours truly
Employees of Al Mutawaa and Arab Mercahnts Company
